Excellent historical account of the beer industry in KCThis book was informative and enjoyable to read. The pictures are a huge plus. I now have a much better understanding of how the beer industry in Kansas City contributed to the success of the city. After completing this book, I could hardly get myself to the bar quickly enough to have a pint of Boulevard unfiltered wheat. And, it was great!

I Love My Brother!: A Preschooler's View of Living With a Brother Who Has Autism
Published in Hardcover by Phat Art 4 Pub (01 June, 2001)
Average review score:

A Very Unique PerspectiveThis book is an extraordinary resource for teachers and parents. Connor shares in a unique voice the realities of living with an autistic brother in an uplifting way. I am his Mom, but I have had people tell me that they cried the first time they read his book because it was the first one that they could share with the youngest of siblings. When you read it I am sure you will agree with my five star rating. And that you will learn something from this very insightful child.

Illusions (Chivers Sound Library)

Average review score:

JUSTICE SERVED?A suicide always leaves lingering questions with those left behind and evokes deep feelings of guilt. So is the case with Eberhardt, Nameless's ex-partner, who commited suicide. Nameless is plagued by guilt and goes on an obsessive quest to find the answer as to "why" Eberhardt did it. What drove him to the edge?
While pursuing this question Nameless deals with an accidental death or suicide of a former client. His search for answers to that killing leads him into the realms of abuse and the question of whether justice is really ever served by revealing an interpretive truth. Are the victims sometimes the guilty ones even though they have been miserably abused? Is justice a cut and dried formula that we mete out indiscriminately without regard to the circumstances? Come and join Nameless on this painful quest as he attempts to get answers. This is Pronzini at his best in story telling.

Imaginary Gardens: American Poetry and Art for Young People
Published in Hardcover by Harry N Abrams (October, 1989)
Average review score:

TH E BESTAn exciting and beautiful way to expose readers aged 9 through 18 to real poetry and art . Drawings , paintings and photos, in wide range of style, are sensitively selected to match poems. Most of the poets and painters are well known. The best this assistant school librarian has ever seen. I only wish that the cover, featuring two lovely little girls, were less gender specific. There are great things in there for guys, too.The editor's introduction can help teachers start lively discussions.

Average review score:

An entertaining animated, "child friendly" adventurePart of the outstanding Tommy Nelson "Gnoo Zoo" series, and based on the popular book by Sheila Walsh, In Search Of The Great White Tiger: A Story About Following God is a wonderfully produced and presented 42-minute video showcasing the story of Big Billy the panda, his animal friends, and the night an evil dragon attempted to take over Gnoo Zoo to rob the gentle creatures of their music, lights, and joy. To save the zoo our heroes go in search of the Great White Tiger in an imaginative, exciting, totally entertaining animated, "child friendly" adventure. In Search Of The Great White Tiger is very highly recommended, especially for young viewers ages 5 through 8.
